3D Solar System

Travel through NASA Eyes on the Solar System from a dedicated AIT tool. Explore the Sun, planets, moons and mission content available in NASA's live 3D scene.

A clear boundary

AIT viewer. NASA universe.

AIT provides the viewer bar and this guide. NASA supplies the interactive scene, its data and the controls inside it.

For your own Moon photo and automatically placed landmarks, use AIT Lunar Atlas Pro.

Explore in five steps

  1. Open 3D Solar System (NASA Eyes) from the Planning tools in AIT and wait for the NASA scene to load.
  2. Use the search or menu inside NASA Eyes to choose a planet, moon, asteroid or mission. Select an item to travel to it.
  3. Drag the scene to rotate your view; use the mouse wheel to zoom. Click an object to inspect it and open NASA's information panel for more detail.
  4. Use NASA's time controls to pause, change the date or playback speed, and see how the scene changes.
  5. Try NASA's view options or stories when available, then choose another destination to keep exploring.

Which controls belong to AIT?

AIT barWhat it does
Solar SystemReturns to NASA Eyes' solar-system home scene.
ReloadReloads the NASA scene if it stalls or does not display correctly.
GuideOpens the bilingual AIT help window without replacing the NASA scene.
Open in browserOpens the current NASA view in your system browser.

The search, information panels, timeline and view options inside the scene belong to NASA. Their labels and layout can change when NASA updates Eyes.

When the scene is blank or slow

Check your Internet connection, give the 3D content time to load, then choose Reload. If the embedded scene still fails, choose Open in browser. NASA Eyes needs WebGL-capable graphics; an up-to-date browser can help when the embedded viewer is unavailable.

Language and theme

The AIT bar and its guide follow the English/Italian language and Studio/Night theme selected in the dashboard, including changes made while the viewer is open. NASA's scene keeps its own design and may remain in English.
